10,000 Bulbs Planted!

We had an awesome turnout of volunteers today for our last Volunteer Work Saturday of the season.  Big John, Laura B., and Janice helped facilitate the work day along with lots of help from Tina B.  Thanks to Tina for taking most of these photos too!  Lloyd was here to clear plants while Larry O., Bill O. and Dave K. worked on some odds and ends at the Horticulture Center.  We also saw Maury earlier today.  Our volunteer bulb planters included Lynn W. (top photo), Alan (directly above), Mary D. (directly below), Kay, Kath, Tim, Bonnie, Jeff, Geri, Parker High School student (can’t remember his name!), Leslie, Miguel, Kimberly, Marv, Tina B., Mike P. and likely others I’m forgetting.  It was a solid crew and we planted 3,000 tulips (Tulipa ‘Hocus Pocus’) in front of the Parker Education Center and 7,000 snowdrops (Galanthus sp.) in the woodland walk garden.  We had the perfect amount of people to get through those two large planting projects.  Thankfully the weather wasn’t too bad although we experienced some sleet and driving winds as we finished up!
