Another Excellent Work Day

We had an excellent Volunteer Work Day today with lots of excellent help putting many plants in the ground.  Lily (above) is standing next to an impressive stack of the empty cell packs for over 1,500 plants!  Lily, along with 35 other volunteers, were on hand this morning to plant in the entrance garden along with many other tasks.  A talented group of nine members of the Wisconsin-Illinois chapter of the North America Rock Garden Society (NARGS) spent three hours weeding and planting in the alpine garden (see photo further below).  Lily can also be seen in action below along with many other volunteers.  Thanks to Sue, Lily, Maggie, Felicia, Jody, Mary D., Mary P., Vera, Brian, Joe, Hal, Doris, Wes, Maureen, Jerry, Mike, Barb, Alan, Deb and her two grandchildren, Jackie, Dawn, Cole, Marsha..along with additional help from Larry, Bill, Big John and Janice.  Sorry for anyone I neglected to mention.  Joe and Maryam worked the Compost Sale and we saw many other volunteers as well.  Former RBG Director, Ed Lyon, brought 48 folks from Iowa to see the gardens as part of a three day bus trip.  Ed is currently the Director at Reiman Gardens which is on the Iowa State University campus.  It was great to see Ed and take his group around the gardens.
