Community Appreciation Day

June 10 @ 9:00 am - 8:00 pm

Community Appreciation Day – “A Buzz in the Gardens”

What is Community Appreciation Day?

During Rotary Botanical Gardens’ Community Appreciation Day, we partner with a local non-profit to help raise awareness and collect donations to help sustain their mission. All donations collected during our Community Appreciation Days are then split with the partnering organization and Rotary Botanical Gardens. We also say thank you to the Hedberg Public Library for their contributions through youth activities during our Community Appreciation Day. For additional activities, please visit our Youth & Families page.

Today’s partnering non-profit organization is The Hive.

Do I have to pay to attend?

You do not have to pay general admission. Community Appreciation Days are our way of saying “thank you” to the community. General Admission fees are waived, but we truly do appreciate donations during these events. Your donation is split between RBG and another non-profit so you can help two wonderful organizations at the same time!

What time is this event?

  • 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. – General admission fees are waived during this time; explore the Garden Art Exhibit, Buzzworthy Bees, or the StoryWalk display.
  • 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Hedberg Public Library will host children’s activities in correlation with the 2020 StoryWalk kick-off (see below). Food will be available for purchase.

StoryWalk Kick-Off, 11 AM to 1 PM

In partnership with the Hedberg Public Library, join us as we kick-off this year’s StoryWalk. The 2020 featured book is The Honeybee and the Robber by Eric Carle. From June – October, those who visit the Gardens will find this book on display throughout the Gardens. The StoryWalk is an outdoor exhibit, featuring pages from the story, The Honeybee and the Robber. Enjoy a garden stroll and story with your little one as you read this sweet tale!

The StoryWalk kick-off will be held on June 10 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Rotary Botanical Gardens. Donation based admission (all day) with free activities and food available for purchase between 11 AM and 1 PM.

All questions should be directed to Education Manager, Laura Peterson at 608-752-3885.
