Garden Dedication!

I wore a tie today.  We had a wonderful dedication ceremony for the new Wellness Garden and recognized the generosity of our donors, Ruth Ann Potts and Mercyhealth for this new garden space which was started last fall.  We had a great turnout and the event went smoothly.  Mercyhealth recognized their donation by giving it in honor of Rollie McClellan who not only has a long history at Mercyhealth (47 years!) as a Board Member and Board Chair but is also one of our own Grumpies as well as a past Board member at RBG.  Both Rollie and Ruth Ann are long time supporters and volunteers at RBG and we’re so excited to have this new garden space that will provide programming potential in a garden space that engages the senses.  The garden looked great and I was able to describe some of the background and features of this space.

Our grounds staff of Bobby K., Larry H., Shania, Ibhar and Alex all had a wide range of duties and we hit the watering early as today was also a Community Appreciation Day which did become quite busy which we were happy to observe.  Our volunteers of Kathy P., Kim, Eva, Steve J., Steve E., Dennis, Gena, Mary, Patti, Myrt, Greg P., Cheryl P., Stan, Maury and so many others kept busy throughout the day and the gardens look spectacular.
