Children’s Garden

The Nancy Yahr Memorial Children’s Garden was developed to help provide hands on education for a wide range of topics. This 4,000 square foot area includes flowing beds, colorful displays, a central fountain feature and an outdoor education area with seating for fifty children. The themes in this space will vary every two years and have a particular focus. Past displays include our Smelly Garden and Pollinator’s Paradise. This garden is developed in tandem with the Education Department in terms of specific programming, signage and ultimately the use of this space by a diverse audience. Proximity to the adjacent pond makes this one of the most beautiful and educational locations in the gardens.
