Road Trip – Day 3

We started out the day with a wonderful visit to the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens (www.botanic.org/) which was spectacular.  This 9 acre garden is in the midst of some major construction on a new visitors center and my daughters and I were amazed by how much is going on in this garden.  Allie (Assistant Director) greeted us and we enjoyed her enthusiasm and appreciated her time with the start of our tour which was later continued with Executive Director, Shane.  We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the entire gardens.  I’ve seen many children’s gardens around the country and I think they might have the best one I’ve ever visited.  Do stop by if you are in the neighborhood as it is worth the stop.  I didn’t get as many photos as I would have liked as my girls, while they love gardens, only have so much patience with dad and his camera.  Regardless, the rest of the trip was uneventful with driving although we enjoyed a lunch stop in Fort Collins, CO which is a neat college town (Colorado State University).  We ate at the Tasty Harmony which is a vegan restaurant (see bottom photo) and later traveled further south (hitting rush hour in Denver perfectly) to Colorado Springs to connect with family before the wedding of my cousin tomorrow.  Lots of excitement today!
