Successful Fifth of Five

Despite some light drizzle this morning, we had a great volunteer crew come to our fifth of five Spring volunteer work days.  With planting our goal, we ended up working through three areas; the Nancy Yahr Memorial Children’s Garden, formal annual sections and Jungle Garden.  Zach and Tyler (above) are showing off just some of the plants they installed this morning (look at that stack of pots!).  Thanks to Zach, Tyler, John, Margaret, Aubrey, Sue, Lily, Shirley, Mike, Joe, Brian, Gena, Mary D., Gary and Eva for helping with the work day. Big John, Janice, Larry and Bill O. were all very helpful in coordinating our efforts which include watering in new plants and collecting all the plastic pots and debris after an area was completed.  Magda (directly below) worked in her assigned garden as did Marcia and Mirjam (last photo down with Marcia to the left).  Kelley and Sue were also in for planting in the shade garden and we saw Maury, Dr. Yahr, Darcie, Shelly B. and many others today as well.  Great teamwork!  Our next official volunteer work Saturday is October 17th where we will be planting bulbs!  However, we’ll still take daily help from anyone wanting to weed and/or plant!
