Volunteers Rock

We had our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner this evening and it was very well attended.  It’s nice to gather and chat about the year as well as some future plans. The evening was really about thanking volunteers for their valuable contributions to the gardens.  Maryam and Becky talked with the group and I did a presentation about the year and included some thoughts for next year.  We had a great day out in the gardens prior to this event with a strong volunteer presence.  The morning was quite chilly and in the mid 30 degrees F.  The day became sunny and cool and was quite pleasant in the afternoon.

Grounds staff included Larry H., Larry O., Bobby K., Janice and myself.  Our volunteers included the Chestnut House volunteers, Kathy, Eva, Dennis, Steve, Kay, Greg P., Cheryl P., Kristin, Stan, Vicky, Gena, Patty, Mary, Nancy, Maury, Dick H., Urban, Alan M. and some others.  Duties involved lots of plant removals, leaf raking and Holiday Light Show (HLS) related work.
