This month, we’re delighted to feature the whimsical and wonderfully creative work of Nancy Hanewall Stacy in our Artist Spotlight. A longtime supporter and now a cherished contributor to our Gallery Gift Shop, Nancy brings color, character, and charm to every piece she creates.
Nancy first connected with the Gardens as a shopper. “When I first visited the Rotary Garden gift shop, I was impressed by the quality and assortment of items and how things were displayed,” she says. Inspired, she inquired about contributing her own work, and we’re so glad she did.
Nancy describes crafting as her personal therapy, “cheaper than a shrink,” she says. Her imagination knows no bounds, often sparked by the simplest of inspirations. Beyond her artwork, Nancy is a former RN, a published author, and an accomplished after-dinner speaker.
Her current collection includes:
Gnome and other themed notecards
Small painted wood dolls
Rock people and pompom critters
Fabric gnomes and floral pins
Stemmed fabric flowers and seasonal decor

Originally from Beloit, WI, Nancy now calls Rockford, IL home, but her creativity has found a perfect match here at Rotary Botanical Gardens.
Be sure to visit the Cottage Garden Gallery Gift Shop during your next visit to see Nancy’s handmade treasures in person. Your purchases support both local artists and the Gardens themselves. 1455 Palmer Dr. Janesville, WI
