August is a showstopper in the gardens with bold colors, towering blooms, and a vibrant mix of textures. If you’ve been waiting to experience the gardens at peak summer beauty, now is the time!
Peak Blooms
Hibiscus – These big, cheerful blooms embody late summer at its finest, find them EVERYWHERE!
Sunflowers – Filling the Display Garden, we planted sunflowers this year to go along with our Story Walk presentation in the Children’s Garden.
Coneflower & Water Lily – Coneflowers are everywhere, while the delicate blooms of water lilies create peaceful reflections in the Koi Pond and Japanese Garden.
Astilbe & Hydrangea – Find Astilbe in the Gazebo Garden and Hydrangea- EVERYWHERE!
Anise Hyssop & False Sunflower – Find Anise Hyssop in the Children’s Garden and the Wellness Garden while False Sunflowers light up the Italian Formal Garden and Wellness Garden.
Joe Pye Weed– Towering Joe Pye Weed throughout the grounds.
DAHLIAS! – a fan fave for sure, vibrant dahlias offer a dynamic display around the cutting garden
Summer Allium & Rudbeckia – Rudbeckias are lighting up the, Wellness Garden, and nearly every corner of the grounds you can find Summer Allium.
Blazing Star & Garden Phlox – A perfect late-summer pairing, bringing vertical drama and color bursts across the Wellness Garden and beyond.
