Crisp fall color is arriving in Janesville, Wisconsin, and this week’s highlights at Rotary Botanical Gardens are unmistakable: asters, sedums, and autumn crocus are all in full, widespread bloom. These seasonal staples are thriving across the gardens, drawing pollinators and adding vibrant color as the days shorten.

Alongside these showstoppers, goldenrod and red hot poker contribute striking splashes of yellow and orange. You’ll also find dahlias flourishing in the Cutting Garden, bluebeard bright in the English Cottage Garden, and clematis blooming in the Rose Garden. Together, they create a dynamic late-season display that rewards you with both color and texture.

Keep an eye out for Japanese anemone and toad lily as they approach their peak. You can spot the anemones near the Children’s Garden and Cherry Blossom Walk, while the toad lilies are poised to shine in the Gazebo Garden. Beautyberry is just beginning to show its vivid purple fruit, while this week offers your last look at the graceful cascades of lespedeza and the final bursts of sunflower color.

Rotary Botanical Gardens is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through the end of October, with the regular season closing in November. Even as the year winds down, you’ll still find late-season blooms and plenty of beauty to enjoy. Keep checking our weekly blog posts for updates, and plan your visits often to experience the ever-changing display.
