Garden Explorers Program

Community groups are invited to enjoy a fun and engaging two-hour visit to Rotary Botanical Gardens. These visits are designed for children ages 5-12. Visits typically include four rotating activities, each about 30 minutes long. Two of the activities are led by Rotary Gardens volunteers and focus on an art craft and science craft, while the other two are guided by the visiting group’s adults and include a scavenger hunt, feeding our koi fish, and a nature hike or time spent in the Children’s Garden.

Groups may choose a morning or afternoon visit. Many groups make a full day of it by enjoying a picnic either in the Gardens—on the Terrace or on the lawn of the Children’s Garden—or going to Palmer Park (please note that we do not have lunch facilities).

The cost is $5 per child, with accompanying adults admitted free. We ask that groups provide one chaperone for every 5–7 children. Groups must be kept to 48 or fewer. To inquire about available dates, contact Kim Lewis, Education Manager at 608-314-8415.
